Ripple’s Meritz Deal Comes as Analyst Says $50 XRP Fits Typical Bull-Market Trends

XRP could eventually approach $50 under an extremely bullish market scenario, according to analyst Gert van Lagen, whose chart projection has renewed attention around the cryptocurrency’s long-term potential. At that level, XRP’s implied market value would be close to $3 trillion, placing it among the largest assets in the global digital-asset market.

Van Lagen has described the projection as part of “normal bull market dynamics,” framing the target as an extension of a broader market cycle rather than an entirely unprecedented outcome. The forecast remains highly speculative, however. Reaching $50 would require a substantial increase from XRP’s current trading range, as well as sustained demand capable of supporting a valuation comparable to the largest companies and asset networks in the world.

The timing of the projection has also drawn interest because Ripple has reached an agreement with Meritz Securities to explore digital-asset custody. The partnership adds an institutional dimension to the XRP discussion, although the available details indicate that the two companies are examining custody opportunities rather than announcing a fully operational service or a guaranteed expansion of XRP adoption.

Custody is a critical part of the infrastructure required by banks, brokerages, investment firms and other regulated institutions that want exposure to digital assets. These firms generally require systems that can safeguard assets, control access, record transactions and meet internal compliance standards. A partnership focused on custody can therefore be viewed as a sign that traditional financial institutions are continuing to evaluate how digital assets might fit into their existing operations.

It does not, by itself, guarantee that Meritz customers will purchase XRP or that the arrangement will immediately generate additional demand for the token. The commercial significance will depend on how the initiative develops, which assets are ultimately supported and whether the companies move from exploration to a concrete product.

Meritz Securities’ involvement nevertheless gives the announcement significance in South Korea’s financial market. A relationship between a major securities firm and Ripple may help deepen conversations about institutional digital-asset services, particularly as financial companies assess how to handle custody, settlement and other blockchain-related functions within regulatory boundaries. The deal may also strengthen Ripple’s effort to position its technology and services as part of the infrastructure used by established financial institutions.

For XRP holders, the custody development is being interpreted as a possible piece of the broader adoption story. XRP is closely associated with Ripple, but the token and the company are distinct. XRP operates on the XRP Ledger, while Ripple develops enterprise-focused blockchain and payment products. The extent to which institutional partnerships translate into direct, sustained demand for XRP remains an important question for investors.

Van Lagen’s chart-based outlook centers on market structure and historical price behavior. Technical projections of this kind typically rely on patterns, trend extensions and assumptions about how an asset may behave during a powerful advance. They can offer a framework for considering possible outcomes, but they do not establish a timetable or provide certainty that a target will be reached.

The proposed $50 level also illustrates how sensitive cryptocurrency valuations are to supply. Market capitalization is calculated by multiplying an asset’s price by the number of tokens counted in the relevant supply measure. If XRP were valued at $50, the resulting market capitalization would depend on whether analysts used circulating supply, total issued supply or another figure. Because token supply can change over time and different data providers use different methodologies, the roughly $3 trillion estimate should be regarded as an approximation rather than a fixed calculation.

Such a valuation would represent a dramatic expansion in XRP’s market presence. It would require more than favorable chart patterns. Broader crypto liquidity, stronger institutional participation, increased use of blockchain-based settlement and a supportive regulatory environment could all influence whether the market has the capacity to sustain a move of that scale. Conversely, tighter financial conditions, regulatory setbacks, reduced risk appetite or weak adoption could undermine the assumptions behind the projection.

The Meritz arrangement may therefore be more relevant as an infrastructure signal than as an immediate price catalyst. Institutional custody can lower operational barriers for firms considering digital assets, but the process of building demand is usually gradual. Organizations must evaluate legal requirements, risk controls, technology integration and client interest before committing significant capital.

XRP’s future price will ultimately be determined by market demand, liquidity and investor expectations, not by a single analyst’s chart or one corporate partnership. Still, the combination of an ambitious long-range forecast and Ripple’s exploration of institutional custody has placed the token back at the center of debate over whether the next major crypto cycle could produce valuations once considered unrealistic. For now, the $50 target remains a bullish scenario, while the Meritz partnership is an early indication that traditional finance continues to examine practical ways to participate in the digital-asset economy.
